Presentation Title:   In-Motion and At-Rest IoT Sensor Data Analytics on the Edge
Primary Speaker:   Alexander Koerner
Bio:   Alexander Koerner is an Analytics Architect in the IBM Analytics organization, located in the new worldwide IBM Watson IoT HQ in Munich, Germany. In addition of covering large key customers in the Industrial and Communications sector, he is also a member of the Industry 4.0 team in Germany. His technical focus area includes optimized sensor data analytics on the edge and in the cloud based on the Informix time series technology and technologies like Apache's Edgent and/or Node-RED. Alexander contributed to several IBM Redbooks and has been a speaker at several IBM and other conferences.
Presentation
Abstract:

The amount of sensor data produced within the
context of the Internet of Things (IoT) already
supersedes the storage capacity of all world wide
cloud services offerings. Many IoT sensor data will
loose their analytical value very quickly, if they are
not processed in a very timely manner. This session
will introduce the concept and the technologies of an
analytical Sensor Data Edge/-IoT-gateway which can
be used to address the issues mentioned above. It
focuses on the sensor data processing in-motion
(streams processing) and at-rest (time series data
analytics) on common Edge/IoT-Gateways typically
based on ARM or Intel based architectures. This
session will include a short Edge-/Iot-Gateway Live
Demo
